My layette

My hands are itchy to shop for baby clothes but the husband forbade me to do so. First, the baby is still 4 months to date. Second, he believed in pamahiin. So not to disobey his will, I opt to window shop online for clothes and baby things I will buy soon. Wink! Wink!

I made a list of things I think is essential when the baby arrives. This is based on the things I commonly used during Joshua’s infanthood. I’m starting from scratch again as I gave out all of Joshua’s baby clothes. (And I’m setting my mind of having a baby girl this time.)

I also planned to breastfeed the baby exclusively for 6 months or even a year. I was able to breastfed Joshua exclusively for 2 or 3 months but had no choice but to have him mixed fed when I returned to work. I wanted to lose weight badly as I’m turning huge again (my pre-pregnancy weight was 105lbs). Back then, it was 90lbs and I balloon to 120lbs.

Diapering:
Pigeon Wipes
Huggies Dry Comfort (Newborn) – saw a few in Shopwise the last time we did our groceries
Cotton Balls
70% Isopropyl Alcohol

Bathing/Grooming:
Mustela Baby Bath Time 2 in 1 Hair and Body Wash
Bath Tub – still thinking if I should buy one or not
Petroleum Jelly
Hair Brush
Nail Clipper
Cotton Buds
Hooded Towels – is 2 pieces enough?

Feeding:
Philips Avent Essentials Gift Set with Sterilizer (BPA-Free) – includes 2 pieces 4oz BPA-Free bottles, microwave steam sterilizer, bottle brush, milk dispenser – will buy at multiply
Philips Avent BPA-Free 4oz Bottle Twin Pack – will buy 2 or 3 packs of this at multiply
Pigeon Baby Bottle Cleanser
Burp Clothes – will buy 12 pieces or more
Breast Pump – need to invest on this

Clothing:
Sleeveless Onesies (3m-6m) – will buy 12 pieces of this
Sleeveless TieSide/SnapSide Tees – 12 pieces of newborn size or small size?
Longsleeved TieSide/ SnapSide Tees – have to bear in mind that I’ll be giving birth on a rainy season
Pajamas – thinking of buy such or frogsuits na lang
Socks / Bibs / Mittens – this I need to hoard as nagkulang ako before with Joshua

Others:
Boppy Pillow
Compartment for Bottles
Diaper Bags
Bottle Warmer
Bouncer

The list is very long, I know. And if the husband finds out how much we’d spend on this if we buy this one time, he would surely faint. That’s the reason why I’m making kulit on him to buy a few one at a time. Those that need to wait (for the baby’s gender) would definitely wait until June.

Every week when I sit down to pose questions for Spitz Tunes there is a constant question that goes thru my mind. Am I reaching an audience and do the questions cause you to think about music and how it has effected your life, your loves, even your losses?

16 weeks pregnant

fetaldev16 The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder. Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.
