Banned

Posted by CHAT at 5:54 PM 1 comments

I just had my 50gm glucose challenge and urinalysis last Saturday and the result wasn’t good. I am 16-point higher compared to the normal sugar count for Asian people. The ending? Sweets banned for the week. I have to undergo a rigid diet that contains chicken, fish and veggies only for viand (soup based only!) plus half cup of rice per serving.

On Saturday, I’ll be undergoing the 100gm oral glucose test wherein I’ll have to fast (again!) for 8 hours then they’ll be getting blood sample from me every hour for 3 straight hours. Wow! I’m not afraid of the needles this time, I’m afraid of getting hungry for so long. I can’t even drink water during the lab test, imagine.

Oh well, I have to follow my OB’s advice as I don’t want to end up being diabetic and all.

On too my urinalysis, nothing has changed, I still have UTI. This time, I’m taking up cefalexin capsules every 6 hours for 7 days then water therapy.

So imagine, my diet shouldn’t have sugar and salt. Wow! Are these signs of aging? I just noticed that I’m having a lot of complications with this pregnancy compared to my first one.

Maternity support

Posted by CHAT at 6:09 PM 2 comments

I had my prenatal check-up last Saturday and I gained a whooping 4 lbs. From 120lbs, I am now officially 124 lbs heavy. My OB told me that my tummy looks like 7months already and from the look of it, the baby inside is 6 lbs heavy.

maternity-support-belt After which, I lied down to check the baby’s heartbeat. She commented that, indeed, my tummy looks deceiving as it’s all FAT. I told her that I really felt heavy already and she advised me to use a maternity support. And since I am starting to have cramps at night, she prescribed Vitamin B complex for me and I need to take twice a day. I’ll continue taking up OB Max (vitamins), Hemarate (iron supplement), Vitamin C and of course a glass of Anmum a day.

*I am schedule to have my ultrasound on the 15th. Excited as usual.

Postponed prenatal

Posted by CHAT at 5:47 PM 1 comments

I was supposed to have my prenatal check-up last Saturday and planned to ask my OB for an ultrasound referral to know my baby’s gender. However, seems the baby isn’t prepared yet as my OB wasn’t able to held clinic at Margareth. She was in OsMun and advised us to go back next week instead.

Oh well, the waiting game will take another week or so.

Hold on tight

Posted by CHAT at 7:41 PM 1 comments

After seeing my ultrasound result Monday night, I worked half day yesterday to catch up my OB at St. Margareth’s. We discussed my condition. It was a little easy to understand what she was saying since I was able to check the web for my condition prior to my consultation. The size of the bleeding is still not alarming at 2cm so I can still go to work.

She prescribed a medicine for me that I need to take twice a day – pampakapit. On March 7, repeat of ultrasound will be done to check if the hemorrhage progressed or stopped. She advised me not to be stressed out at work, no carrying of heavy things – that includes the little boy. Sigh. Once I get to see spot (discharge), whether it’s brown or red, I need to advise her immediately. That means, I have to be in bed rest. Gawd!

Though that would mean boredom to me, I’d do everything for this pregnancy to progress. And like every other preggy mommies out there who wishes for the gender of their baby, I also would like to have mine a girl. However, with my situation now, I’d rather would not think of that yet. What is important for me and for hubby is for the baby to hold on tight….

Baby's heartbeat

Posted by CHAT at 5:51 PM 0 comments

I had my prenatal check-up last Saturday at St. Margareth's. Joshua is in tow as I want him to appreciate and fully understand that there is really a baby coming soon.

Since I am already on the 12th week, my OB used a doppler to check my baby's heartbeat. At first, I was laughing out so loud so she let me finish my laughter first. Afterwards, she scans my tummy for five minutes but we failed to hear the baby's heartbeat.

Prior to that, I told her that I oftentimes feel pain in my upper right tummy. She told me that the pain might be something relevant or irrelevant. I am scheduled for an ultrasound today.

I am fervently praying that my pregnancy isn't ectopic and that my nine months will be safe.
