Aveeno or Burt’s Bees

Posted by CHAT at 6:28 PM

If feeding bottles have BPA issue, skin products have paraben and phthalate issue. After making a decision as to which bottle should we buy for the baby inside me (we still didn't know the gender as my sonologist is out of the country), I am again torn as to what soap should I get. J&J products, which are readily available here in our country, are out of the picture as they contain paraben and phthalate. Sometimes it pays off to check the label. Wink! Wink!

I gather some info about the two brands. This are from drugstore.com

Hi! I'm a new mom of a 3 month old little girl, and am just now really looking into BPA, parabens and phthalates. I so wish that I had done my homework before my little one was born, but am making every effort to remove toxins from her everyday routine. It's difficult to say the least!! I am currently using Aveeno myself, but after researching online (how I found this post, BTW) I have decided to switch to the Burt's. Through my research, I learned that manufacturers are not required to list phthalates in their ingredient list. Often times phthalates are hidden and listed as "fragrance". For this reason, I'm going to choose products that specifically say they are free from these chemicals. Hope that helps you decide :)
